Anecdotal History of MacArthur Elementary

CCP resident of over fifty years, Dorothy Mulligan, provided some history of MacArthur Elementary School to share with neighbors and the school.  It stems from conversations with former students, teachers, principals, and parents.  Dorothy was PTSA president and from 1970 to 1975 edited the school’s mimeographed newsletter, Mac’s Facts. Many of the early reminiscences come from those issues. Student Debbie Burke won the competition to name the newsletter. Mark Mulligan drew the Charlie Brown cartoons used on the flag of the newsletter.
